Plato and Augustine see the eternal and unchanging absolute property of ideal objects in the truth. I. Kant considers the truth as the agreement of the thought with himself [2].
One can notice that the lie is a phenomenon of communication, consisting of deliberately distorting the actual state of things to bring others into error. As a rule, the lie is motivated by the desire to achieve personal or social benefits in specific situations. Sometimes the person gets satisfaction from the process of introducing others astray.
Besides the false attracts the man, who does not understand that he fools himself. Every liar thinks that he has enough ingenuity and cunning in order to use the lie. It's like a drug making a person dependent on himself. Having tried it once he wants more and more to tell the lie. The small lie creates a big lie like the tool of evil destroying from within, breaking friendships with people, questioning human values. The more the lie guids our life, the more difficult we restore our original identity. We are scared to admit our lie, stand in the truth, defeating the lie. But a new life is only in the truth.
The Bible considers the lie as follows: 1. The whole life for the sake of false principles. 2. The worship of the idol .3. A false system of values and the construction of corresponding worldview. 4. Self-deception and pretense. 5. False hopes, expectations. 6. Hypocrisy, flattery, duplicity and a double life. 7. The denial of the deity of Jesus Christ.
The lie never comes from the truth. In the Scripture it is confirmed by John (8:44), that the father of the lie is a devil, a murderer fulfilling father's desires. The falsehood, as justified concealment of the lie, is considered in the example with birth attendants who lied saving little children. They were told by the Egyptian king to kill the Jewish boys and leave alive girls. Different people have different purposes of the concealment of the truth. Sometimes it is used to cover up weakness.
The Holy Scripture describes the different types of the lie:
1. Eve's seduction by the serpent.
2. Cain's lie in Genesis 4:9 is an evasive answer to the direct question.
3. The deception of his father by Jacob in Genesis 27:19 is planned.
4. Even good people often are tempted to lie. The history of the denial of Peter is an example of the lie; he swore that he did not know Jesus Christ.
5. False witnesses against Christ, the gospel of Matthew 20: 59-60.
6. False prophets in the name of Jesus Christ prophesy the deceit of their own heart.
7. False teachers train false doctrines, the gospel of Peter 2:1/2.
8. False brethren, whose way of the truth is in the reproach, Kor. 11:26.
9. The false apostles claimed themselves as the messengers of God.
In the gospel of Mark 13:22 it is said, that false prophets will give signs and wonders to deceive even the elect. In revelation 21:27 it is described the reminder that liars will not inherit the Kingdom of God [3].
