РАЗРАБОТКА КУРСА ПРОФИЛИРОВАННОГО АНГЛИЙСКОГО ЯЗЫКА

Работа рассматривает основные вопросы разработки курса английского языка для инженеров-нефтяников. Предлагаются этапы работы, даются рекомендации по определению целей и выбору учебных материалов при разработке учебных планов и содержания курса.
The primary issues of designing the course of English for petroleum engineers have been outlined. Attention is paid to steps and parts of developing a new course, determining its objectives and selecting teaching materials while developing the syllabus and the content of the course.

The subject of this paper is an overview of main problems connected with teaching English for Special Purposes (ESP) at university level. Nowadays it is still urgent to discuss what to teach and how to teach a foreign language taking into account future possible professional needs of engineering students in this country. It is obvious that they should be able to exchange professional information in English and have developed reading, writing, listening and speaking skills for that. But the fact is that many of them get bitterly disappointed and lose interest in foreign language studies because there are many pedagogical, psychological and methodological mistakes done while teaching them. [1] The course content and methodological support have been considered thoroughly and brought about problems restraining the process of successful language acquisition.
The first requirement to judge the relevance of the course is its correspondence and congruity to student's major. ESP course can't be effective if it starts before other courses, studied in Russian, intended to form the content and skills for student's future job. It's absolutely ineffective to study the information about fluid flow mechanics and try to discuss it during 45 minutes with first- and second- year students. The teacher will have to spare a lot of time explaining the topic. And it will be a great job if the
